This is the 5th installation in a series of African-inspired fabric collages that honor the dignity and strength of Black women. This particular piece focuses on a woman’s relatively carefree youth as a girl.
The collages all use vibrantly colored swatches of African cotton fabric that have been backed with adhesive and steamed permanently into place. It’s professionally mounted with a white wooden frame, a 2” black mat, and UV protectant glass.
