THE MINI SERIES, Part III: Hocus Pocus, Up Popped a Crocus! - 8" x 8"

$100.00

Fall used to be my favorite season bar none. I mean, who can argue with brilliantly colored leaves fluttering about in trees and eventually drifting to earth on the next crisp autumn breeze? It’s sweater weather, caramel apple time, and grinning Jack-o-lantern season. What’s not to like?

That said, spring has been quietly moving its gentle way up to first place for me personally. I think that might be typical as we age. The brutality of midwestern winters makes us long for spring breezes and, well, crocuses popping up out of the frozen ground like magical spring smiles full of hopeful promises of warmer weather to come.

This fabric collage was created from raw edge cotton swatches that had been backed with adhesive and positioned on a stretched canvas. They were then steamed into place.

  • Crocuses symbolize rebirth, cheerfulness, youthfulness, and the return of spring.
